Gabriel Adorján was born into a family of musicians in Munich and received his
first violin lessons at the age of four. He studied with Prof. Ana Chumachenco,
Aaron Rosand, and Prof. Igor Ozim. He has won prizes at a series of international
competitions, including the ARD Competition in Munich and the Paganini Competition
in Genoa.
As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras including the Munich Symphony
Orchestra, the Bern Symphony Orchestra, the Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic
Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, under conductors
such as Kirill Petrenko and Markus Poschner.
Gabriel Adorján was a member of the Zurich Piano Trio and can be heard regularly
in chamber music ensembles at home and abroad. As concertmaster and artistic
director, he has been shaping the concerts of the bayerische kammerphilhamonie
for many years.
Adorján has lived in Berlin since 2001, where he is principal concertmaster of the
Komische Oper Berlin. Since 2008, he has been the director of the Deutsches
Kammerorchester Berlin. He is likewise in demand as a guest concertmaster with
the DSO Berlin, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Bavarian State Orchestra, and the
NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, among others.
